Kalari Timing.
The deities
of our temple has got a celestial wake-up during the 6 O' clock
in the early morning, with regular rituals, includes, the
Ganapathi Homa etc. every day. The training starts in the
morning at 6.30 onwards till 9 O' clock or till you feel full
within you. You will be joined with our regular Kalari
disciples joining from far and wide from different locations,
different age limits starts from age of 7 to age of 60. The
morning schedule followed with a evening schedule which starts
from 6 O' clock in the evening to 8 in the late.
The Manner Of Training
The training
will be initiated at our school in a traditional ritualistic
manner. The training will be initiated by performing the
Salutation to the Kalari goddesses, which includes complex leaps
and turns, itself is a serious phase of learning. Initially you
will be trained individually and then situate together with our
disciples to make a combined effort, which make the phases
easier for you to understand

Process
Our training team employs a child
centered and inclusive
approach to the training of the Kalarippayattu, is trying to make each
session participatory, creative and self-contained. Our education
outreach programmes are offered to students from all
backgrounds irrespective of their financial status, language,
cast, creed, or religion.
Dance artists, theatre
artist, martial art directors of national and international
film industry of international
repute who have undergone training at our institution
adds more feathers to our cap.
Hindustan Kalari Sangam has set up
a core group of Kalarippayattu artists as resource team. Apart
from this our crews includes artists of other various art
forms such as Theyyam, Koodiyattom, Kathakali, Ottanthullal,
Mohiniyattom etc. among others
Our tradition and dedication have resulted in the
emergence of a unique way of Indian contemporary martial art
practice, which is the hallmark of Kalarippayattu artists from
Hindustan Kalari Sangam. The experience of kalarippayattu that
Hindustan Kalari Sangam offers has successfully
developed is influenced by a three generations of its practice
as well as valuable information from various other tradtions.
This makes our traditional knowledge relevant and accessible
for its preachers today. Having gained valuable
experience over the years working in this system, the team
Hindustan Kalari Sangam would like to share that
with the disciples fro all over the country.
We have developed
many training schedules structured with a proper syllabus, lesson plans prepared
according to this syllabus and a well-defined process for
conducting classes and training. Our instructors adhere to
this syllabus and all inputs are documented. A creative
movement therapist was drawn upon to
provide expertise on movement pedagogy.
Typically, each
session can range between 40 minutes to one and half hours.
Depending on the requirement of the learner, a proper schedule
can be worked out to mutual satisfaction.We Emphasis on
subjects such as, How Kalarippayattu need not only be practiced and presented in a full
frontal way. How the body is
a 3D object and movement can be approached in various ways. How contact
improvisation opens up different surfaces to work with. How it can give
rise to lifts and sequences. How touch and
texture are fundamental in movement.
